If you don’t already know me, I’m a Jackson, TN local and other than a stint living in middle Tennessee to attend Middle Tennessee State University, I’ve lived in Jackson my entire life. Through my varied career I have been covering the entirety of West TN for decades. I know the area well, and I know what it’s like to live here.

After graduating with an engineering degree in 2008 from MTSU, the financial crisis of the time severely reduced my employment opportunities. This led me to a job as a wood destroying organism (WDO) inspector with one of the South's largest pest control companies. I covered all of West TN inspecting people’s homes, from crawl space to attic, for termites and all manner of pest control issues. It was during this time that the concept of starting my own home inspection business was developed.

Years later, I found myself working in management for a local small business, which I found mostly satisfying, but there was little room for promotion. When a good friend moved homes and showed me his inspection report, I was appalled at the poor quality and general lack of professionalism in the report. It was then that I decided it was time to start my own home inspection service! 

My journey soon began and eventually I had completed the requirements of the State of Tennessee, passed the National Home Inspectors Exam, obtained my license, and finally established Hummingbird Home Inspection! I am determined to make a business with integrity that uses modern methods for inspecting and reporting, and that values what people want and need when buying a home: a report that is simple to read and tells the complete story, with an inspector who is easy to work with and willing to help in any way they can.
